D Day

Well it's here. I think we are ready, no actually I know we are ready and waiting. Just a short trip down to Heathrow today. We've had too many instances in flying from Heathrow where its ended up being a toss up whether we make the flight or not because of some holdup on the journey down and the last thing I want is for the trip to foul up on the first day. We should have time in the morning to have a leisurely breakfast and toddle off to terminal 2 to check in for our flight to Istanbul.

Experience is a great help as we had over an hour of delay on the way down which would have been a major stress if we were on a check-in deadline.

Beth and Ritch dropped us off at the Radisson on their way to a blacksmithing course after a quick detour through McDonald’s car park looking for the hotel entrance. We have a bit more luggage e than I’m used to travelling with but I’m sure we’ll manage.

We had a nice relaxing evening with a couple of beers / wine and some surprisingly good bar food so we are all ready for the start of the trip proper early tomorrow morning. Can’t wait!
